Some elves got together and prepared our float for this year’s Santa Claus Parade in Northbrook. Our theme was Snow White, Rose Red & the Seven Gnomes. The gnomes were called, Daisy, Pansy, Poppy, Rose, Lily, Violet and Iris – a flower theme for sure! It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and an excellent parade – kudos to the Lions once again. We handed our 350 or our corsages, 50 of which were given to the Pine Meadow Nursing Home for their staff and residents.

Mary and 6 elves got together on Nov 15th to make 350 Christmas corsages. Three sprigs of local greens, hemlock, balsam & pine, a white cedar sprig, some red berries, a tiny rose and a beautiful bow. All taped together with floral tape and a safety pin affixed. These will be handed out at the Santa Claus Parade in Northbrook on November 26th. We will give 50 of these to Pine Meadow Nursing Home for the staff and residents.
Many thanks to the elves who gave 4 hours of their time today to get this done, all corsages are unique and beautiful.

Each year in late November, we gather greens from our gardens and cut them into sprigs. Then we organize a group to come to one of our homes where we have lots of fun making up the many Christmas Corsages and we share a delicious meal together.
These Corsages are handed out at the Santa Claus Parade in Northbrook. We will also hand them out at local businesses and Pine Meadow Nursing Home too so that those who cannot attend the parade will have a little token of our commitment to our community through our love of horticulture.
