Sustainable Vegetable Gardening

Sustainable vegetable gardening means growing vegetables year after year, using locally available resources and materials, practicing the 4Rs (reduce, re-use, recycle, rethink) and minimizing negative environmental impacts.

Sustainable vegetable gardening includes the following practices: composting, building healthy soil, collecting rainwater, using organic products, planting native, using natural pest control, gardening by hand, mulching and saving seeds.

Some of our members have very impressive vegetable gardens! Check this out!
